The Home Office

Back in November 2001, on 16 November to be precise, a fellow writer suggested that a bunch of us post photos of our usual working environment. What a cool idea. Thanks Whil Hentzen! Read on everyone, to see where I do all my work. I have quite a large office, actually. It's directly under, and the same size as, the living room. Our master bedroom is on top of the living room, and is also the same size.

Sorry: I didn't think to save links to the other writers' offices. I wish I had, and I don't know why I didn't think to do it at the time.

Update: These photos are old. The furniture is arranged differently now, the cardboard coffee-table has been replaced by a plastic storage tub, and we no longer have TV in the house.

My office as viewed from the corner closest to the door. Notice the can of Raid on my big desk. I've been trying all day to kill this fly that's been bugging me. So far, he seems to be Raid-proof. The towels on the chairs? That's because I accidently left the chairs sitting in the driveway during a pouring rainstorm. The cushions have cracks, and water soaked through the cracks. Ugh.

Here's a view from the opposite side of the room. Notice my wonderful coffee table<grin>--it's the box from a Shop Vac. To your left, you see a side-view of a bookcase, and there's another bookcase behind the loveseat.

A view of Jonathan's officeI store supplies and author copies on the shelves behind my "bar". It used to be a bar, I belive, when this room used to be a rec room. On top of the counter are printouts of various works in progress.
