Centering Squarespace Buttons

Centering just one call to action button is easily done in Squarespace. But what if you have multiple buttons, and you want them in a row and centered as a group. That's a harder task, and I present in this post a fun hack to help you solve it.

Facebooking the Squarespace Flatiron

Have you built a site on a Squarespace template such as Flatiron or Marquee supporting the concept of index pages or index collections? Do you post a page or a gallery link to Facebook only to be frustrated that Facebook ignores the metadata for the page you are posting and displays the index page's metadata instead? Keep reading! There's a perfectly logical explanation along with a dead-simple solution.

CSS and Squarespace: Getting Started

CSS style rules let you bust into full-on, creative mode when designing websites on the Squarespace platform. The Squarespace promise is one of gorgeous template designs that you build out with drag-and-drop ease. Yet no matter how good the template, there is always just that one little tweak that you want to make, that wasn't accounted for by the template's designer. Knowing how to create and apply CSS rules helps you avoid the cookie-cutter look by customizing your site's design beyond the limited set of choices provided by the template.

Seven Tips toward Better Writing

"D- - n, d- -n, the author & publisher I say!" You're looking at a well-known sketch from 1807. What? You don't want your readers to react in that way? I should hope not. Here to help are seven tips toward better writing that I presented as a lightning talk at C14 OakTable World Las Vegas – an event sponsored by the OakTable Network and held in conjunction with the IOUG's Collaborate14 conference.

Duty to Review

Posting a review on Amazon.com is one of the nicest things you can do for an author when you read a book and like it, or find value in its content. Positive reviews drive sales and have direct bearing on an author's willingness and even ability to create more of the content that you like and benefit from.

God's Word is True!

"Why can we trust scripture?" That question was put recently by a reader in a comment made on a blog post written by an acquaintance of mine. What an important question! Eternity hangs in the balance. I answered from my own testimony, and share my answer here as well.

Don't go! But if go you must, following are some other sites I recommend. These are a collection of friends, neighbors, local businesses, nearby churches, and so forth that you might not otherwise encounter. Thanks for dropping by my own site, and safe journeys.
